    A few years ago I wanted to work at home... well I should say I wanted to quit my job! I hated my job but I made very good money doing what I knew how to do for so many years. What I figured out the biggest thing I wanted was not to be working for someone else. I wanted to work for myself. I wanted to be my own boss and have the freedom to take time off for a family day... or to go on a vacation when the time was right for my family, and not for my boss. That I could spend time with my kids before they went to school or even take them to school and not have to rush to work so I wouldn't be late.

    I constantly wondered as I drove my car through the rush hour traffic in the morning passing by the Starbucks, seeing people in their shorts and flip flops, sipping their Latte's, scrolling through their computer laptops and relaxing at several of the tables. DON'T these people have to go to work! Most of the time I didn't even have time to go through the express drive through to get my coffee, that I usually end up spilling all the way to the office in stop and go traffic, let alone to actually go inside for a fresh cup.

    These people have to have jobs. Most of them are to young to be retired. They can't all be independently wealthy or have rich relatives,... can they?.... Naaah! There must be something they are doing different that I have not been enlightened about. The question is what are these type of people doing different then what I am doing

When you log into your Google Adsense account, you are automatically taken to the page where you can view all your Adsense activity. On the Reports tab, you’ll see “Today’s Earnings.” This is the approximate amount you have earned today in your Google Adsense account. Here you will see the number of page impressions listed in the first column. While a page impression is generally the same as a page view, that is not always the case. Next, you’ll notice

the number of clicks. This refers to the number of times “your ads” were clicked on.

Page click through rate or CTR is in the next column shown as a percentage. It represents the percentage of the time an ad was clicked on after viewing your page.

Page eCPM which stands for effective cost per thousand impressions. It is calculated by dividing total earnings by the number of page impressions in thousands.

Don’t be intimidated by these statistics. The bottom line, your earnings, is what really counts. As you become more familiar with Google Adsense, statistics will become like second nature. First, just start.
